Our 2018 Hogs For The Cause Campaign & Assault On 53rd Place Ribs Has Begun, Join Us!

Mandeville, LA – Last year the Barbacoa Brotherhood, with your generous support and God’s Grace, raised over $32,000 to support families that have children suffering pediatric brain cancer, via the Hogs For The Cause competition and festival. We also managed a 10th place finish in whole hog and 21st in the coveted Porkpourri category finishing 16th in Grand Champion. Our rib turn-in was not so well-received, coming in at 54th place out of 94 so we resolved to begin an assault this year on 53rd place in ribs and are working every weekend to perfect that 53rd place goodness! Here are some photographs of our latest practice effort.

Please consider making a donation to our efforts this year by joining the Barbacoa Brotherhood for as little as $50! Your donation goes to assist children like Nadine Hebert who received a Hogs grant with our assistance last May. Nadine’s story is here.

Presentation of competition style pork ribs, these are at least good for 53rd place we think!
